You must have your vehicle MOT tested by:
- The 3rd anniversary of its registration
- A year after its last MOT test if it's over 3 years old
In some cases, your vehicle may need to be tested 1 year after its first registration.
After your vehicle's first MOT test, you will need to ensure it's tested yearly thereafter. This has to be done up to 1 month before it expires - you'll find the expiry date on your current MOT certificate.
